It’s Build Your Bundle time!
And it’s also giveaway time!
First, check to see if you were one of the big winners from last week’s BYB giveaway. If not, you should still have your coupon code that you received this morning. I want to go through and help you to understand how the sale works so you can figure out which deals are best for you.
In addition, I will be giving away one premade bundle of your choice, up to a $39 value! The entry form is at the bottom of this post. Read the directions carefully before entering. Giveaway closes tonight at midnight Eastern!
This article originally appeared on my old blog, Townsley Times. If you came here looking for this particular article but thought you were going to a different site, never fear, you’re actually in the right place. 🙂
What exactly is the Build Your Bundle sale? Over 100 homeschool bloggers and curriculum authors have submitted their BEST products for the sale, and the (very selective) BYB team have put them into themed bundles. There are 20 bundles, plus 3 options to build your own. Most of the bundles are over $200 in retail value, with a handful being slightly less and a handful being over $300. These are an average of 90% off! So you’ll get a lot of really great products at a deep discount.
There are bundles for each age group (early learning to upper grades), then there are themed bundles, such as unit studies, fine arts, character building, a brother and sister bundle (love this!), and parenting. There are anywhere from 4 to 12 products in each bundle.
You also have the option to select just certain products you want and build your own bundle. Here is where it gets a tad confusing and overwhelming! I can help you navigate this, though. You’ll need to know what the individual products are so you can make the best choice. BYB has provided this handy shopping list and planning set to help you figure things out! I suggest you download this right now, print it out, and come back to read the rest of this article.
BYO Option 1: Choose 5 items for $25 (choose from products $19.99 and under)
BYO Option 2: Choose 10 items for $39 (choose from products $19.99 and under)
BYO Option 3: Choose ANY 5 items for $39 (choose from ALL products, valued at up to $175 each, such as complete sets of curriculum)
In addition…you can take advantage of the Buy 2, Get 1 FREE option. You can stack this multiple times, and you can also use it with BYO options. If you do a BYO, you can also use the discount code you received if you entered the giveaway from last week (keep that in mind for next year if you didn’t sign up during the presale this time!).
Now what you want to do is go through each product (yeah, it might take awhile), and put a star next to the ones you HAVE to have, and put a check next to the ones you want but could live without. Notate the prices of each so you know if you’re in the range for regular products or premium products if you decide to BYO.
If you are browsing through the bundles and you are super excited and want to BUY ALL THE BUNDLES, I would suggest deciding which ones appeal to you most and do the B2G1 offer. You will have a lot of stars or checks next to the items in the bundles you would want to purchase (duh).
- The most expensive premade set would be the Charlotte Mason bundle at $49 paired with one of the $39 bundles. You can pay $88 at the most and get three bundles! Your savings would be around $1000!
- At the low end, you could purchase the three least expensive bundles ($10 each) for $20. Super frugal but still hard-hitting for your homeschool.
- On average, bundles are $29, so you’re looking at under $60 for three of those. You can get a variety of really helpful resources!
If you’re browsing through the bundles but not seeing a lot that you are loving but you see a handful of items you just HAVE to have, I would suggest doing the BYO. You can then look at your list and see what they are valued at.
- If you like the less expensive options (under $20), you can do the choose 5 for $25 or choose 10 for $39.
- If you like a lot of the pricier products, go for the ANY 5 for $39 deal! That in particular is a giant savings.
- If you see a lot you love and have more than 5 or 10 faves between various premade bundles, consider doing a B2G1 with the BYO. You could get up to 30 products for less than $80! That’s not even including the coupon code you might have. If you feel strongly that you wouldn’t get the best use out of a premade bundle or you are too conflicted on which package to buy from the list of premades, I would definitely go this route.
Combine some premade bundles and a BYO. Based on my own selections, my game plan is to purchase a B2G1 for six premade bundles (so I’m buying 4 and getting 2 free), then do a BYO (also B2G1) for the rest so I can pick and choose what I want and also use that discount code!
The Mystery Bundle is just that. So maybe add this on for good measure no matter what you get! It’s a grab bag full of great resources.
In addition, everyone who makes a purchase also receives a Bundle of Bonuses, which is filled with additional coupon codes, freebies, and special offers. I can’t wait to see what all is included!
Not to confuse you further, but there are some premium products you should consider. These are not in bundles but instead are memberships or premium programs that have a higher retail value. A lot of them are geared toward older kids, and I think most of my readers have younger children so I’ll let you explore that on your own. But I did want to show you one item I think is an exceptional deal and I would very much recommend that you explore.
You guys know we LOVE SchoolhouseTeachers.com! Now you can get an annual membership for a deep discount through BYB. This is probably the best deal you’ll find on this, and you can use it with all ages, as your main curriculum or as an adjunct. There are videos like Drive Thru History, hands-on art classes, an online encyclopedia with timelines you can create, enrichment classes for Mom, downloadable planners…there is truly something for everyone and we use it quite a bit in our own homeschool.
Between SchoolhouseTeachers.com and what I’m getting from the bundles, my need to purchase curriculum has dropped to practically nonexistent. We’ll just need the math materials from Rod and Staff and that’s really it!
Now, for my giveaway! It is open now and will close at midnight Eastern tonight! I am giving away your choice of premade bundle (sorry, no BYO). Instructions: You will need to tell me which premade bundle you want, up to $39, and you will need to provide a valid email address. Otherwise I cannot deliver the product to you! I will email the files to the winner tomorrow and announce it on social media so I do not delay you from shopping as you wait to find out the winner! The first entry is required as outlined above; all others are optional. The second entry requires you to go to the BYB site and find the two bundles that contain my products (one is listed as Andrea Townsley and the other as Townsley Times…sorry for that confusion)! You’ll get a bunch of extra entries for doing this. 😉 Happy hunting and good luck!
Note that all entrants will be added to my biweekly VIP email list, where you’ll have access to subscriber-only freebies, encouragements, and tips for homeschooling and homemaking. Unsubscribe at any time. By entering, you acknowledge these terms.
